Join the Apple Beta Software Program

On your iPhone, iPad or Mac, go to the beta.apple.com ↗ website and sign up with your Apple Account (preferably the one you use with your Apple TV). If you have never joined the Apple Beta Software Program before, the update might not appear on your Apple TV, so make sure you are registered in the program.

Turn on Beta Updates

On your Apple TV, go to Settings → System → Software Updates → Get Beta Updates, then select tvOS 27 Public Beta.

Select Get Beta Updates again to confirm.

Update your Apple TV

Once this is done, you can update to tvOS 27 Public Beta by clicking Update Software on the Software Updates page.

Click Download and Install to begin.

You can always switch to the "Off" option in the Beta Updates to stop receiving future tvOS 27 Public Beta updates.
